Two troupes of puppeteers use colorful, kid-sized hand and

rod puppets to perform three short sketches for

third and fifth graders at local elementary schools.

Kids on the Block Performance

Kids on the Block, an international organization created in 1977, develops the programs in a manner designed to address children's questions, concerns and needs in a lively and engaging manner. In each program, the puppets discuss their differences or social concerns candidly through entertaining skits, followed by a discussion period between the puppets and the children in the audience. The JLMN has been performing these puppet programs at schools in Montclair, Newark and surrounding towns since 1984.
