Business Promotional - * If information is being handed out (business cards, flyers, etc.) and there will be no transaction of money for future events/services then no license is required.

Township of Montclair Municipal Clerk  973-509-4900

  • Special Event Vendor License Application
  • Applications can be emailed to licenses@montclairnjusa.org or dropped off in person at the Montclair Municipal Clerk’s Office at 205 Claremont Avenue, Montclair.
  • Fee is $25.00 and payment can be made online HERE
  • Applications are due to the Township of Montclair by April 1, 2024.
  • Any application with incomplete or invalid information will cause a delay in processing.
  • Fees are non-refundable. 

 

Montclair Department of Health  973-509-4970

  • Temporary and Special Event Retail Food Vendor Application
  • Applications can be emailed to mginter@montclairnjusa.org or dropped off in person at the Montclair Department of Health at 205 Claremont Avenue, Montclair.
  • Fee is $10.00 – payments can be either check or money order made payable to the “Township of Montclair”
  • Applications are due to the Montclair Department of Health by April 1, 2024.
  • Fees are non-refundable. 

 

Fire Prevention Bureau  973-509-4769

  • All mobile vendors must complete all forms and email them to fireprevention@montclairnjusa.org
  • Application for Fire Safety Permits $42 fee
  • Kitchen Hood and Suppression System Permit $42 fee
  • Mobile Food Vehicle Inspection list
  • Any tent or combination of tents that is more than 30 feet in any direction requires a Fire Safety Permit, and must have a flame-retardant certificate, the fee is $42.00
  • Check or money order payable to “Township of Montclair, LEA” due upon passing the inspection that will be conducted at the Montclair Fire Department at 1 Pine Street, Montclair.
  • Food vendors using an open flame/propane for cooking without a food truck must fill out a Fire Safety Permit and mail a check in the amount of $42.
  • Applications are due to the Montclair Fire Department by April 1, 2024.
  • Fees are non-refundable.
